Walking through the beautiful city centre, you will discuss historical memory, industrial heritage, and uncover the colonial significance of 'chocolate city’. This tour invites attendees to will see beneath the surface and uncover the lesser know histories of York. The tour is written and researched by academic experts and delivered by trained guides. They ask questions that provoke new ways of seeing the city landscape and its history, encouraging attendees to bring their personal experiences and views to the group discussion. This tour is being launched as part of a UK-wide expansion of the social enterprise Uncomfortable Oxford and is kindly supported by the University of York Institute for the Public Understanding of the Past (IPUP) and the Rowntree Society. *Accessibility:* The tour features several stops around the centre of York over the course of 1.5 hours.
