Blog Volunteers
We’re looking for clear and enthusiastic writers to produce short articles about ‘uncomfortable’ histories for our blog.
You can either send us a fifty-word pitch for your idea or we can provide topics for inspiration. We’re particularly interested in stories about:

Local social histories

Cambridgeshire landmarks, street names, or places outside of Cambridge city centre

Relevant exhibitions, events, or initiatives in the area

Marketing Volunteers
Gain marketing experience, while spreading the word about Uncomfortable ~~~York~~~. Liaise with our team to:

Create content for our social media pages

Develop strategies for reaching out to tourists and day-trippers

Contact local organisations, colleges, and societies to advertise our tours

Script Development Volunteers
Are you a researcher with a keen interest in public engagement? We’re looking for volunteers to help us create future tour scripts. While our Original Tour covers a range of ‘uncomfortable’ topics, we’re also aiming to develop a variety of ‘specialised’ tours which explore particular social histories in the city, from LGBTQIA+ histories to scientific histories.
